Hey there – it’s Monica here, founder of Gugu Guru. Usually I let other editors on the team try out products for reviews but I have been obsessed with The Night Sky since the company pretty much launched so I stepped in to do the review this time around.
I think my obsession with night skies in general comes from frequent visits to planetariums as a kid. In fact, my parents even threw one of my birthday parties at the planetarium and I supposedly had a star named after me. Ha! So I was immediately intrigued when The Night Sky caught my eye in my Instagram feed. As I dug a little deeper about the story behind this brand, I became even more in love with the concept.
The Night Sky was started by a mom named Ciara who, like me, has a husband that is a very frequent traveler for work. As she tucked her children in at night, they felt united with their father when she assured them that he was looking at the same stars that they were.
The Night Sky allows you to give the gift of stars to always remember a specific, special date in your life. We think this is SO ideal for parents who can create beautiful prints of their child(ren)’s birth date. The site allows you to create an 18″ x 24″ star map that’s customizable. Each map is printed on very high quality Art Matte paper so it doesn’t look like a flimsy framed poster, but a beautiful piece of wall art.
